Caracol Festival is one of the most awaited celebration of talents in Makati City. Caracol comes from the Latin word “kuhol” It is a sea creature that has a shell to protect its body. Just like the “kuhol” Caracol symbolizes on how to protect mother earth in different aspects. Caracol Festival started as a program of Department of Tourism in the year of 1989 and it was declared to be the official festival in Makati City.
Caracol Festival held at Circuit Makati last February 26, 2017 with a theme of Oceanic creatures. Many people were amazed by the execution, props, preparation and the fighting spirits showed by the MHS dance troupe lead by Sir Kemuel Gavino. The Makati High School dance troupe named their troupe as the Bangsiyawan tribe. It compose of talented students came from different grade levels.
It is not easy to make props just like what they have shown in fact, It took them time to create an ocean-inspired props and costume. Gold fish style costume, blue-sea creatures, fisherman attire, and queen of the sea costume are the costumes that were slayed the dance floor. Trident, Vista flag, fisherman net, big clam and the background showing under the sea wallpaper makes their dance more creative and exciting.
To MHS dance troupe you make Makati High School proud. Never stop dancing like no one is watching, continue bringing pride to our Alma Matter. Always remember put God first and put your feet on the ground. More power Bangsiyawan Tribe.
