Literature is my Utopia

    People nowadays think that being into literature is irrelevant and insignificant. But for me, literature is a way to connect into reality from classic to modern.There is an ignominy in our society that convey one who is more inclined toward science and math will somehow be more successful in life, and that one who is more passionate toward literature  will be destined or it'll be like a second class citizen. Nonetheless, Literature is a gateway to show us about the experiences in our lives from worst scenarios to a joyful ones. Literature serves as a gateway to learning of the past and expanding my knowledge and understanding of the world.

         I believe in the book by Charles Bukowski entitled Without Literature, Life is like hell. It is truly indeed that we are like a living dead if we are not exposed in any literary texts. In my 17 years of existence, I am exposed from a different literary texts and I did not regret to accept it as a part of my life because my life became a rainbow, colorful and meaningful. Whenever I'm sad? I write. If I am happy? I write. Because every moments in our life  deserves to be recognized and not to be rot in hell. Literature is a journey that is in inscribed pages and empowered by the reader's imagination. With out literature, life is dull and full of uncertainties. You don't want the book to slap you? Do you?. Start reading and place yourself in the place where literature is on top. As a student, Literature has been a part of my daily. Little by little I did not noticed that it it becomes a candle that enlightens me in my dark surroundings. My world became vivid and attracts positive energy that makes me surpass my everyday life. It helps me in different aspects and I overwhelmingly accept the changes that literature gave to me because Literature expands our horizon. It opens our eyes to see what reality shows. It help us realize that there our beauty beneath our world and in our surroundings. Literature helps us appreciate cultures and beliefs by reading books about history and anthropology. With these, we can start to understand each and everyone we somehow, we can achieve unity in despite of diversity. Literature helps us to be a better writer. I always ask myself when I am reading novel if how writers write this story? So I began to search and practice myself how to write literary text so that in a snap of a finger, my work has a chance to be a part of a specific magazine. Literature is a time machine. It enables individuals to travel into specific time period of the story. I recently read "A Walk To Remember"a classic novel by Nicholas Sparks.Literature is important as it connects people relationships, and tell what is right or wrong. Therefore, worlds are alive more than ever before.
