          I love reading and watching news because the information that I get is important because it can be useful to us. But now, being the reporter is another thing. I am now delivering the information and it is not easy and another thing it is about crime and killing. Somehow, there are relief in my inner self because this opportunity, to be a reporter is a privileged, they are watching and listening attentively to me while I deliver my words is such a good experience. News, North, East, West, South definitely information from different places but has the same purpose, to inform people in different places. 

Ka-Bel

         Freedom of Expression is our gun and being brave enough enough to express is like pulling a trigger that can change someone's life. Don't be afraid to show the world that we have the right to say what we want but there will be limitations. Poor People's weapons is their voices and just like in Ka-Bel, they used their voice to define what really laborers and workers really needed.

Beauty Within Me (My Collection)

             "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" I agree in this quotation because definitely being beautiful is define by someone who stated it but the one who is holding, having, and proudly exposing it. There are beauty that is naturally bloom and there is also beauty that is expensive and I am proud to say that I have both kinds of physical beauty.

                     Eyeliners, Foundation, Eyeshadows, Lipsticks, makeup brushes and various kinds of face make-up is my collection. I invest a lot in these because these makeups give me the extra ordinary, upgraded, and unique beauty that I want in my physical appearance. Every time I buy new collection, I feel happy because when I am using it I feel liberated but in a good way and I also extraordinarily beautiful because of these make-ups. I also use my collections as my part-time job because there are people that want to put makeup on their face and pay me accurately. I am looking forward to buy new again because I find happiness looking at these beauty products.

Oasis in the middle of Skyscrapers (Gulayan Classroom)

       "Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better",- Albert Einstein.The 6-word nature in not just simply pronounce as it is, behind those simple words, hides necessities that needed love,care, and protection. It is indeed right that nature is essential to mankind,From foods, herbals, and even shelter. Protecting and conserving nature is one of my advocacy in my early age. At this point, inclined with my advocacy is my family's not-so-big vegetable and fruit garden.

 Lolo Jujie, My 72-year old Grandfather, the brother of my grandmther has been productive in conserving our vegetable and fruit garden. He started planting saluyot, and alukbati which became my grandmother's usual appetite. At this juncture, my grandfather decided to upgrade our vegetable and fruit garden. Until today, this became our hobby  and in our community, they said that our family has a "green tumb" which means we are good in planting. Because  of our vegetable and fruit garden, I have become fond of eating various kinds of vegetables. In fact, I like it more when the vegetables that I will eat are the those that came from our own vegetable garden. I am expecting that in the near future, our garden will be the role model in our society that even though we are in a urban city, we should keep in our mind that nature is everywhere and we will need it anytime in our life.                                                                                     

 

There are plenty of crops that our family planted. First is the Red Chilli, we use our this as our seasonings in every dish that we love to make it hot and spicy. Second is the cucumber tree, there are plenty of cucumber tree in our garden, we use these to add some sour taste in our sinigang dish every Sunday. Third, kamoteng kahoy which my grandfather always cook in our siesta time.There are also crops that are ready now to harvest I want to include patola, bitter guard, and string beans that we love to cook and use those crops to be part of our usual vegetable dishes. Aside to these vegetables that we love to plant, there are also fruit-bearing plants that we decided to be part of our garden. These are guyabano, banana, papaya, Mangoes, tamarind, and coconut tree. These fruits help us realize that are favorite deserts can also be found in our garden. Since I have the luxury of time again. Beside of those legible crops, I also have Herbal plants such as ginseng that is good at cleansing the internal parts of our body.

I decided to bring back my hobby that I have been forgot because of studies. I am starting to plant again with my grandfather. There are plenty of crops that I wanted to plant but I chose something that is near to my favorite dishes. Something that my grandmother likes and my mother will love if she will see my creation. I ask for help to my grandfather again and he suggested that I should plant something I really want so I decided to plant okra, which is my mother's favorite, papaya, my grandmother's favorite fruit, eggplant, I really love fried eggplant in fish sauce, and last is gabi.

When I started to plant again, memories keep flashing back and I just found out that this hobby is not a waste of time at all in fact it is worth of time.                                                                                                                                                               At this point of our lives, we forgot how nature is everything. We just know how to use nature in our own way but forgot how to protect as well as conserve it. Our garden will be a living legacy in our family, this symbolizes our unity, love of nature, and strategic approach on how to deal scarcity of food in our society. I am proud that there are oasis in the middle of skyscrapers.

Critique Paper 

PUPPY LOVE

FANCISCO SIONIL JOSE 

                The author (Francisco Sionil Jose) presents his story by creating another persona, and it is in first Person's Point of view of Jacobo, the leading man of the story. Puppy Love is a typical love of story of young adolescence that "fall in love" in a very young age. This story reflects the youth's ambition in love that they have experienced in the young age. The setting of this story in Town of San Jacinto that it shows equality because both poor and rich kids go to same public school.

                The story is started by describing the characters' profile, their family background, personalities, and their physical and internal descriptions, which is a good factor in creating a story because it gave initial information that can make the readers find hints that can lead and make them to the flow of the story. The author featured Jacobo as the central character. His character is a typical characters in every story because of the tagline "from rugs to riches", he is a successful rich lawyer but before he tasted the golden spoon, Jacobo's parents have vices, he's father is into cockfighting and he's mother is into jueteng. The author made Jacobo's life a symbolism to every people who strive hard for the success despite of ungrateful experiences.

                     As the story goes along, the author made the climax a very tragic one. It is when Jacobo's parent died. This situation made the story more interesting because it shows the other side of the characters which made the story more interesting and it made a new door to open to another event because the Jacobo and Gina separated their own way to fulfill each other's plan and dream.

                          Despite of a bad and tragic climax, the author made the falling action as well as the denouement an excited scene because Jacobo's life in Manila became exciting because she met who looks like his first love, Jenny, same as Gina based on her physical statistics. In this case, Jacobo experienced again the feeling of being in love but in another girl. But the author made a twist that made Jacobo become separated again from his love one. This scene showed that in our live there will be always a time that we thought we found the right person but in the end, we just expected for nothing and this what author made us to realize that finding the right person is hard because it needed time and effort.

                           The author backed up the following events with a most-awaited situation. The reunion of Jacobo and Gina, his first love symbolizes the memories that happened in past can be cherish in the present. This scene will made us realize that there's nothing wrong in having a reunion with your ex-boyfriend or girlfriend but make sure that there will be a thick line in each other's heart because moving in is really a must because in can make the life good in the present and better in the future. The author secretly showed to us that we should not be trapped in the past because there will be another person, chances, situations, events, and memories that will be made and there will be a time to leave the old ones in a time.

                                 The author made the ending story with a relieved one because it featured the 

conversation of two parties (Jacob and Gina) that parting ways and moving are the best solution to manage their own families. Francisco Sionil made this story not just to realize the worth of memories and how childhood love was memorable but also that there will be a time that we are mature enough to know what love is what moving is and what letting go is.

                                   "Love will always find a way" this quote may not be a the best to suite in the story but little we did not know that love moves in mysterious ways in this story. From the childhood memories, to separation, to meeting another person, to reunion, and to meet again but chose to let go and move, the love really moved. The author ultimately did this story to show to us how love break us, create us, and change us in the other way or around. Puppy Love, a Palanca Awardee story deserves both clap from every reader's hand, every generation's heart, and every time to read this story.
