Autobiography

Tale of Tales

In a noisy, polluted and crowded place of Manila is were I born. The dominating skyscrapers makes shadows on the busy road were people values time as it makes sense in the living. The roaring of horns, the shouting of people, and the street dwellers are the landmark of my place. This place is the center of all fast transactions, heavy businesses, various opportunities that shouting industrialization in modernity. This is Manila, a place where I built my passion and confidence as a person.

One bright sunny day between the time of ripe mangoes were started to bloom, the time when people went to beach to have fun, the time when thirst quenchers are must-to-buy to relieve the parched throat is the time when I was born. It was the time of 13th day on the 3rd month of the year, when the symbol of luck was the big and roaring dragon, when the birthstone where the crystal-clear, shining and hard aquamarine, when my pattern of desire symbolized by two fishes in the Greek era. That day was the best part of my life when my mother lifted me up and exposed me to the reality of life.

My grandmother is the one that named me Dominic. It is derived from Saint Dominic Savio, patron saint of choir boys. She wanted me to be a part of church' choir but unfortunately my voice is like a raging voice of thunder that can break someone's ears. I find my name Dominic a two-faced person, a mysterious one and extraordinary. Because in French, Dominic can be a girl's name, a gorgeous lady that has a mysterious secret beneath the smile but in my birth land, Dominic is a Roman- Catholic king that shows richness.

The lady that went hardships to give me life, the lady that shows courage to save a life, the lady that I most proud of is named Alwin Calavia. She is the most important person in my life. The lady in white symbolizes hope and purity. She is gorgeous at the same time an angel shining in the dark time of my life. Accompanied by my ironic father, Irvin John Vargas. he mad our life a little miserable, our world went upside down when he left us. The white light turned into a dark one. Our life went in vein. I must be ironic also because I thank him that we learned how to become independent and strive for the very best of our lives.

I started my elementary in a big, public school in Manila. The U-shaped, 4-storey school made me realize the essence of education. The school were surrounded by noisy vehicles roaming around but in the inside, the tall, leafy tress made my school a fresh place to study with. Aurora A. Quezon Elementary school. It is derived from the wife of Manuel Quezon, Aurora Quezon, the mother of Red Cross Philippines. She has tall, bronze and outstanding monument in front of the school gate facing the spacious triangle. I finished my elementary education with a high grade and got my diploma with a bright smile with a bonus of 5th honors.

Continuing the exploratiom of valuing the essence of education. I went to Makati High School to have my secondary stage of my student life. I learned many things and explore new things from me. This place made me realize that there are hidden talents, skills, and passion in my heart. This school made me realize that being a teacher is my career in life and I should strive for that goal. I joined many curricular activities like: dance troupe, Hi-Y Club, SSG, Yes-O Club, Library Club, Math Club, and YHEM. These organizations are my profound stage where I developed my skills in different aspects.

Today, I am currently finishing my Senior High School in the same school taking Humanities and Social Sciences as my gateway and stepping stone to become and educator soon. Someone said that grades do not measure your intelligence, but for me, grades measure the learning you have gained in your school that can lead to experience it and apply it to your life. Grade is not just a numerical mark that written on the card. It reflects how the students interact, collaborate, and how's the development going on.
